The article aims to examine the key features of the doping-related laws used by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). It presents a review of the nature of doping in sport, the dispute settlement mechanism under the CAS Code, the court’s limitations in doping cases, and the rules on standard of proof, the right to a fair hearing, strict liability, and procedural equality. The author has discussed the scope for exculpatory evidence, and the court’s approach to the Russian doping programme.
