International Investment and Economic Law
The International Investment and Economic Law Interest Group of the Asian Society of International Law was founded in 2016. Its principal aim is to provide space for collaborative research of theory, practice and teaching of international economic law broadly defined, including international investment law, international trade law and the wider field of law governing the relationship between business, states, and societies. Since its inception, the Interest Group has enabled a number of projects, including a collection of essays on international investor accountability. It also regularly hosts events, such as conferences, workshops and online seminars. The overarching objective of the interest group is to enable scholarly exchanges to facilitate better understanding of international economic law in its workings, impacts, its history and future trajectories. Our aim is to pluralise, diversify and enrich the scholarship on international investment and economic law by encouraging and enabling contributions from Asian scholars and / or on issues of relevance to Asia. The Interest Group works closely with the AsianSIL 101 (a podcast series) and AsianSIL Voices (a blog). The convenor of this interest group is Mavluda Sattorova.
